Explore Coffs Harbour
Beaches, cafés, and local attractions are all within easy reach.
Coffs Harbour Jetty & Marina
A 5-minute drive from the motor inn, the historic jetty and marina precinct is the heart of coastal Coffs — great for a casual lunch, a fish-and-chips dinner with a view, or a dolphin-spotting cruise. Walk the jetty itself, browse the craft market (first Sunday of the month), and finish with an ice cream on the boardwalk.
Distance / drive time: ~3 km / ~5 min drive
Best time to visit: Year-round; markets first Sunday of the month
Muttonbird Island Nature Reserve
A sealed walking trail from the jetty leads out to Muttonbird Island — a culturally significant Gumbaynggirr site with some of the best coastal views on the Mid North Coast. From August to April, witness tens of thousands of wedge-tailed shearwaters nesting in burrows across the island.
Distance / drive time: ~4 km / ~7 min drive, then walk
Best time to visit: Shearwaters visible Aug – Apr; sunrise is spectacular
Dolphin Marine Conservation Park
A much-loved family attraction close to the CBD, home to rescued dolphins, seals, penguins, and marine reptiles. Interactive shows and behind-the-scenes encounters are a favourite with kids.
Distance / drive time: ~2 km / ~5 min drive
Best time to visit: Year-round; school holidays are busiest
The Big Banana Fun Park
An Australian icon and a Coffs must-do. Water park, toboggan, mini-golf, ice-skating, and the famous banana-shaped photo op — bring the family, bring the camera.
Distance / drive time: ~6 km / ~10 min drive
Best time to visit: Year-round; water park best Oct – Apr
Sawtell Main Street
Ten minutes south of Coffs, Sawtell is one of the prettiest small-town main streets on the coast — fig-tree-lined, with great cafes, restaurants, and a classic art-deco cinema. Pair with Sawtell Beach for a perfect half-day.
Distance / drive time: ~12 km / ~15 min drive
Best time to visit: Year-round; lovely in all seasons
Dorrigo National Park
A World Heritage-listed rainforest is an hour inland, up the Waterfall Way. The Skywalk offers views across the escarpment to the coast, and shorter walks lead past giant trees and waterfalls.
Distance / drive time: ~60 km / ~60 min drive
Best time to visit: Year-round; most atmospheric after rain
